Congratulations to Laura Jane Willoughby, Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County's 2026 Carroll H. Hynson, Jr. Award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Philanthropy recipient!

A resident of Anne Arundel County since 1998, Laura brings nearly three decades of work with immigrant families to how she gives: not starting with a check, but with a name, an immediate need, and the right people at the table. She co-founded the Anne Arundel Rapid Response Network, connecting families with trusted resources when they don't know where else to turn, and co-leads the immigration team at Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church. Her 20-year journalism career and fluency in Spanish allow her to communicate directly with the families she serves.

Earlier this year, when a group of day laborers was apprehended on the Eastern Shore, Laura identified Anne Arundel County residents among them and connected their families to the county's Family Protection Initiative. When four of the men fell outside the county line and didn't qualify, she called churches and nonprofits until she found support for all six families.

Congratulations to Lisa Lutz, Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County's 2026 Boots on the Ground Award recipient!

A fifth-generation Annapolitan, Lisa grew up watching her mother work as a development director for Hospice of the Chesapeake and the Providence of Maryland, learning early that helping others is a way of life. In 2019, an encounter with a boy running his own blanket drive inspired Lisa to start Just One Sweater, a winter clothing collection that has grown into Just One, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has distributed more than 75,000 articles of warm clothing over the past six years. Lisa personally restocks the organization's pantry network, often delivering the same day a need arises.

Her volunteer work extends well beyond Just One. Lisa has served at the Eastport United Methodist Church pantry, supported the Light House - Homeless Prevention Support Center with fundraising and meal prep, written grant applications as an Annapolis BPOE LODGE #622 volunteer, and helped RoundTable Relief deliver meals to hospitals and first responders during COVID-19. Over the past 15 years, she has been a steady presence in some of Annapolis' most under-resourced neighborhoods, including Annapolis Gardens, Eastport Terrace, Harbor House, Bywater, Robinwood, Clay Street and Bay Ridge Gardens.

Congratulations to Margaret Davis, Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County's 2026 Volunteer of the Year!

For Margaret, volunteering is a way of life. She has spent years aiding nonprofit leaders, building new systems for communication and fundraising, and setting organizations up for sustainable growth. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, her work as a volunteer advisor to the Banneker-Douglass-Tubman Museum Museum helped transform the organization, expanding its philanthropic support, visibility and free educational programming on Maryland's African American history and culture.

Over the past five years, Margaret has held nearly every leadership role at
Anne Arundel Women Giving Together, a women's giving circle, from president to committee chair, improving communication strategies for its 440 members and helping establish the organization's first Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility and Belonging committee. At Historic Annapolis, she created the Cornerstone Society, a leadership giving program that now generates funds annually for preservation, education and public engagement, and she volunteered as strategic planning facilitator for the Annapolis Dragon Boat Club.

Congratulations to Andre Manning Jr., Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County's 2026 Young Volunteer of the Year!

Andre doesn't wait for volunteer opportunities to find him. As a leader with the The Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Bywater Butterfly Pantry, he partnered with Just One Sweater to launch a youth-led initiative addressing food insecurity, helping supply food, clothing and toiletries to residents in more than seven neighborhoods. At the Bywater Boys & Girls Club, he mentors 12 younger members, offering academic and leadership support that builds confidence in the next generation.

Andre has also lent his time to major community events, including the Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival, Celebrate Annapolis Juneteenth and M.E.G.A. (Manifesting Every Great Accomplishment), assisting with event logistics, youth engagement and outreach. His dedication earned him the 2026 Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Youth of the Year honor, though he remains focused on impact over recognition.

Congratulations to Anna E. Greenberg, Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County's 2026 Carol Thompson Lifetime Achievement Award recipient!

For more than five decades, Anna has shown up again and again for the causes and institutions she loves. A lifelong Annapolis resident, she began volunteering with Historic Annapolis in 1973 as a historic district guide, later joining its Board of Trustees and now serving as an Emeritus Board Member. Her leadership reaches across the county's cultural landscape: she has served twice as President of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, chaired the Maryland Hall Foundation Board, led Scholarship for Scholars as President, and held leadership roles with the Annapolis Opera, the Anne Arundel County Public Library, Anne Arundel Women Giving Together, a women's giving circle, and St. John's College.

Anna's relationship with Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County runs deep. She served on CFAAC's Board from 2006 to 2015 and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2007. In 2015, friends established the Anna E. Greenberg Leadership Fund at CFAAC in her honor, supporting leadership and governance training for nonprofit boards every year since.

Congratulations to the Earl family, Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County's 2026 Philanthropists of the Year!

Jim and Sylvia Earl set the standard for generosity in Anne Arundel County, earning this same honor in 2012. Their son, Matthew Earl, and daughter-in-law, Bridget Earl, have carried that legacy forward, from a $10 million commitment toward the new Earl Family Surgical Center at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center, the largest single gift in the hospital's nearly 125-year history, to conservation work with Chesapeake Conservancy that permanently protected 47 acres of forest and established the Earl Conservation Center in Annapolis. Their giving also reaches Historic Annapolis, Maryland Hall, Anne Arundel County CASA, Inc., the Anne Anne Arundel County Food Bank and Hospice of the Chesapeake, carrying forward the memory of Bridget's late husband, David Earl, founder of Severn Records.
