About Annapolis Coalition of Black Progressives PAC
Annapolis Coalition of Black Progressives (ACBP) was founded in January of 2020. It was created as an effort to give Black and Brown people a more inclusive seat at the table when it comes to initiating policy that affects their everyday lives in the city of Annapolis and throughout the state of Maryland.
Since the year 1701, people of color have been underrepresented in political positions of power in the city of Annapolis. ACBP’s goal is to move Annapolis in the direction of a more inclusive and progressive city. One that will ensure people of color, within Annapolis and the State of Maryland, have a voice and a seat at the political table.
In the State of Maryland, we have yet to elect an African American Governor since the first governor was elected in 1777. In order for the city of Annapolis and the state of Maryland to reach its greatest potential, we must make sure that there is equal representation in all places of power.
Our purpose is to educate voters on the political process while helping to elect progressive and Black and Brown candidates.
