David Duba for Orphans' Court

David Duba for Orphans' Court I'm running to be a Judge on the Orphans' Court of Anne Arundel County! This page will share information about me and updates regarding my campaign.

My goals are to serve my community and make the court accessible to all people! A little bit about me: I'm a public school teacher and I am passionate about serving my community. In addition to my work teaching high school social studies, I've served the state of Maryland as the Chief of Staff for Delegate Alice Cain and connected with voters all across the state while serving as an organizer for

various political campaigns. I love teaching about civic responsibility and believe I can serve the Anne Arundel County community well in this role as a Judge of the Orphans' Court. If you'd like to donate to support my campaign, you can do so here: https://donorbox.org/friends-of-david-duba

After many months of campaigning, many days of waiting for the mail in votes to be counted, and a lot of math and my own amateur projections, I am excited to share that I won my election to the Judge of the Orphans Court of Anne Arundel County!

I’ll be working with my two partners, Vickie Gipson and Marc Knapp, on the court to rule on cases involving probate law and estates. A HUGE thank you to everyone who voted, donated, worked, volunteered, provided encouragement, and helped make this possible! I am honored to have shared the ballot with an incredible team of people up and down the ballot. We ran together and this county will not be the same!

I thought I'd share a little update with everyone. I'm focused on getting out and knocking on doors in my community, attending community events, and helping ensure that voters know about and connect with their elected officials running up and down the ballot! I'm running on a shoestring budget and hoping to burn through at least one pair of shoes while walking and knocking on doors between now and November. I don't plan to post too much on social media, but I'll try to keep everyone updated on all the fun this year!

I did create a really basic website if anyone is interested in checking it out!

I’m very excited to announce that I’m running for office this year! I’ll be running for a down-ballot position called the Judge of the Orphans’ Court of Anne Arundel County! The three elected citizen or layperson judges of the court manage the estates of those who have passed away in my county. My goal, if elected, is to work with the other judges to make the court more accessible to working people and to those who live all throughout the county! After my work these past few years in Maryland in our schools and government, I’m looking forward to serving my community as a Judge! If you’d like to learn more about why I decided to get involved in this race, I’d love to talk with you, just let me know!
