On Sunday April 19, the Annandale Fire Department did a prescribed grass burn. This is valuable training which allows Firefighters to learn about grass land fires and teaches how to maintain and control them as best as possible.

Here are a few pictures from that day. Thanks again to the property owner who let us do this training.

This morning Annandale Fire Department will be conducting a prescribed grass burn today starting about 8am, near 100th st NW & Montgomery Ave NW. This is a good training for our local firefighters to work on wild land firefighting skills. Thank you to the property owner for letting us do this burn.

For your safety, please stay away from the area while emergency crews are working. Thank you,

Annandale Fire

To reduce the risk of unintentional wildfires, the first spring burning restrictions are now in place. With warmer temperatures and dry conditions, fire season has begun in parts of Minnesota.
The state will not issue burning permits for the burning of brush or yard waste in the following counties:
Aitkin, Anoka, Beltrami South, Benton, Cass, Chisago, Clay, Crow Wing, Douglas, Grant, Hennepin, Hubbard, Isanti, Itasca, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Norman, Otter Tail, Pine, Pope, Ramsey, Sherburne, Stearns, Stevens, Todd, Traverse, Wadena, Washington, Wilkin, and Wright.
Escaped debris burning is the #1 cause of wildfires in the state. Minnesota experiences the most wildfires in spring. Restricting this type of burning in spring has helped reduce wildfires by 30%.
Burning restrictions will be updated as conditions change.

Don’t burn brush and yard debris!

Check recent campfires and any burning done recently to ensure the fire is out COLD!
Be extra cautious with outdoor activities that could produce heat or a spark.

Remember, only you can prevent wildfires!
