Be part of the City of Anna’s 4th of July Parade as we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with a patriotic community tradition!

🚗 We’re inviting floats, businesses, organizations, clubs, classic cars, tractors, golf carts, and community groups to participate in this year’s parade. Show off your red, white, and blue spirit and help make this a celebration to remember!

📅 Date: July 4
🕙 Parade Start Time: 10:00 AM
📍 Line-Up: Begins at 9:00 AM at Anna City Park

The Wish Wall is up at the Shawnee Hills Arts Council ready for the Civil War Weekend happening Feb 27, 28 and March 1. Be sure to add your ribbon and share your wish. Be part of the story that continues to unfold, the story of us all.

This is a community project sponsored by the Stinson Memorial Public Library District , the Shawnee Hills Arts Council and the Here and Now Shop.

Stinson Library has two Union County 250 events coming in February! Join us for a special President's Day Storytime.

Students in 3rd grade through High School are encouraged to create a submission for the America's Field Trip Contest, where they can compete to win a once in a lifetime trip to one of the U.S. monuments or historical sites!

🇺🇸🐾 Calling All Dachshund Owners & Wiener Dog Fans! 🐾🇺🇸

As part of Union County IL-America 250's – 4th of July Celebration, we’re planning a fan-favorite event…
🌭🐕 THE WIENER DOG RACE! 🐕🌭

We’re looking for dachshund owners, enthusiasts, and dog-loving volunteers to help us organize, promote, and run the race — from spreading the word to enthusiast groups, to helping on race day, to cheering on the competitors!

Whether you:
✔️ Own a dachshund
✔️ Know dachshund groups or clubs
✔️ Have experience running dog events
✔️ Just REALLY love wiener dogs

…we’d love your help!

Big things are in the works as Union County, Illinois prepares to celebrate America’s 250th birthday — and we want YOU to be part of it!

Planning is underway for a full lineup of community events, and we’ve launched a survey where residents, organizations, and businesses can:
✔️ Submit events to be included in the celebration
✔️ Sign up to volunteer for upcoming activities
✔️ Get involved in making this historic celebration unforgettable
