Clark Miller, MSEd.- Anna ISD Board of Trustees Place 5

Clark Miller, MSEd.- Anna ISD Board of Trustees Place 5 I am seeking re-election on May 6th for Place 5 of the Anna ISD Board of Trustees. Political I simply love our community, love our kids and love our culture.

When Missy and I moved to Anna to raise our five kids, it reminded me so much of my hometown. A town that was rooted in its small town values and traditions, but faced with inevitable growth at a rapid pace. I knew immediately that this town could provide so much, but that I needed to invest in by paying forward and giving back. It wasn't long before I sought out every opportunity available, from

being the Anna Sports Group Football Commissioner and current President, to starting my own local business, Next Generation MMA of Anna, where I could serve the children and adults of Anna, and particularly the law enforcement community. The next official step in my journey of service was to become a trustee for the Anna ISD School Board in Place 5. Since being on the board we have seen tremendous growth and monumental change. Even in the face of a pandemic that changed education and learning forever, we continue to grow and change every day. Unlike some others, I have no personal agenda and no personal "axe to grind" for reasons of wanting to remain on the board. I want Anna and Anna ISD to be the best in everything. I am so proud of our hometown here in Anna and look forward to serving you and our kids for another term.

TEA Accountability Rating

Congratulations to our Anna High School students, faculty, and community. The TEA predicted ratings for the 2023-24 school year grades Anna High School as an A campus!

Over the past three years, the high school campus rating has consistently increased its overall score from an 86 in 2022 to an 88 in 2023 to a 90 for the 2023-24 school year.

The TEA evaluates schools in three categories: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gap. Again, Anna High School has seen an increase in these categories since 2022. While the TEA Overall Rating counts only two of the three categories, Anna has maintained a score in the 80s, and mostly upper 80s, in all three categories each of the past three years.

Additionally, in 2023, Anna High School earned Distinction Designations in four of seven categories:

Academic Achievement in Social Studies
Top 25% Comparative Academic Growth
Postsecondary Readiness
Top 25% Comparative Closing the Gap

We Anna High School.

My Story

In 2012 we moved to Anna and immediately immersed ourselves into the community when I volunteered as a football coach for the Anna Youth Sports Association. Since then I started the first Mixed Martial Arts Gym in Anna with Next Generation MMA, was elected as President of the Anna Sports Group, and was elected to the Anna ISD School Board. My wife also owns a home based business here in Anna and we are active members of the Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce, Anna Athletics Booster Club and attend Pin Oaks Christian Fellowship Church. I also have a full time career as a commercial construction executive. We have 4 kids currently enrolled in Anna ISD and one working his way up into the ranks. We love our community and the people in it and seek out opportunities to serve whenever we can.

Three years have passed since first being elected to Place 5 of the Anna ISD Board of Trustees in 2017. Since that time a lot has changed for me personally and I have had the opportunity to directly be a part of so many incredible changes and events at Anna ISD. In the Fall of 2020 my wife and I will have four of our five kids learning at every level of education in Anna ISD with one at Anna High School, one at Anna Middle School, one at the Anna Education Center and one at Harlow Elementary school (and one more headed there very soon). All of our children are actively involved in programs such as athletics, band, Ag, CTE, UIL Competition, Hope Squad, Student Council, and more. My investment and interest in the entire school district and its programs runs deep and I am always striving to see more improvement and to take on new challenges presented by constant and rapid growth.

Also since 2017 I had the opportunity to be a active part of the following milestones:

  • Searching for and hiring of a new superintendent
