AJ Homecoming is almost here, and we want to get downtown decked out and ready to celebrate our Wildcats! ⚪🔵

This year’s Homecoming theme is…

The AJ Homecoming Parade will roll through downtown on Friday, September 25 at 1:00 PM, and we’re inviting businesses, organizations, families, alumni and Wildcat fans to help us decorate the parade route!

For $25, you can claim a downtown light pole and decorate it with your best Wildcats in Paradise theme. Think tropical flowers, palm trees, beach vibes, Wildcats, blue & white and plenty of school spirit! 🌺🏝️🐾

Even better — 100% of the money raised will go to the AJ Student Council! ⚪🔵

🎃🍂 PUMPKIN TOWN IS BACK — WITH SOME NEW WAYS TO JOIN THE FUN! 🍂🎃

One of Union County’s favorite fall traditions is returning for 2026, and this year we’re mixing in a few new ways for businesses, organizations, families AND individuals to participate!

Don’t worry — our traditional Pumpkin Town displays in the park are still the star of the show! And this year, we have a theme…

🎶✨ DOLLY PARTON! ✨🎶

Get creative and bring a little Dolly to Pumpkin Town! From 9 to 5 and Jolene to rhinestones, country music, butterflies, the Smoky Mountains and everything in between — we can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with! 💕🎃

But you don’t have to build a traditional Pumpkin Town display to join in this year!

🍂 NEW WAYS TO PARTICIPATE INCLUDE:

🎃 Traditional Pumpkin Town Display – Create a Dolly Parton-themed display in the park!

🏠 Front Porch Decorating Contest – Residents, decorate your porch or yard and help spread Pumpkin Town throughout Anna!

🏪 Storefront Decorating Contest – Businesses, dress up your storefront for fall and join the fun!

🏆 AND THERE WILL BE PRIZES!

🗳️ INTERESTED IN SERVING YOUR COMMUNITY?

Candidate packets are now available for anyone interested in running for Mayor or City Commissioner for the City of Anna in the April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election.

Serving in local government is an opportunity to be involved in decisions that impact our community and help shape Anna’s future.

📍 Candidate packets may be picked up at Anna City Hall, 103 Market Street during regular business hours.

Anyone interested in becoming a candidate is encouraged to pick up a packet and review the requirements, important dates, and filing information.

Positions to be elected:
• Mayor
• City Commissioner

📅 Consolidated Election: April 6, 2027

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Commissioner Martha Ann Webb. Martha served as a commissioner since 2009 and was dedicated to the citizens of this town. Of the many things she was passionate about, we will name two that she was very proud of.
1. She brought Wreaths Across America to Union County. The Anna City Cemetery was the first cemetery in the county to have this event and Martha Ann ensured that every single veteran got a wreath each year. She also helped and encouraged other cemeteries to host this event as well.
2. She created the Annabelle Trail to go along with the Annabelle Festival.

Her passions, accomplishments and dedication to Anna and Union County are too vast to sum up in one post. We thank Martha Ann for her 17+ years serving as a Commissioner.
