Let's take a look at this week's 4th Ave construction progress 🚦🔎

Progress made this week:

➡️ Completing water main work
➡️ Began installation of foundations for pedestrian signals and light poles
➡️ Installation of electrical conduit and storm infrastructure

Looking ahead to next week:

➡️ Install electrical handholes near the 4th Ave and Liberty intersection
➡️ Install main line storm sewer
➡️ Begin grading for concrete pavement installation

New public art is coming to Kerrytown! 🎨

Starting this week, artists Brandon Gaia Marshall and Jesse Kassel will be installing wayfinding artwork that will guide people from the Ann Ashley Parking Structure to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market.

Artwork will include:
🖼️ A mural on the north side of the parking structure
🟧 Sidewalk art on the south side of Miller Avenue and Catherine Street, and will continue northwards on Detroit Street
🖌️ A to a ground mural located within the footprint of the Farmers Market

This new public art project is brought to you by the DDA's Elevate Public Art Program. We're excited to be partnering with the A2AC - Ann Arbor Art Center on this project.

Another week, another construction update! 👷

Progress made this week:

➡️ Water main installation is complete!
➡️ Making water service connections to 121 and 123 Liberty St
➡️ Continuing removal of bus stations, and removal of sidewalk from the east side of 4th Ave
➡️ Beginning of storm sewer install

Looking ahead to next week:

➡️ Install storm sewer at the 4th and Liberty intersection
➡️ Begin work on installing streetlight infrastructure
➡️ Sidewalk removal on the west side of 4th Ave

DTE Update: DTE crews plan to resume their gas main construction on June 8, beginning at the Washington St and 4th Ave intersection, then heading north. Construction is estimated to last 1-1.5 weeks and is not expected to interrupt gas service. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians, and DTE flaggers will work to maintain two-way traffic.
