It's going to be a fabulous fall at Washtenaw County Parks!

Up first, it's the third annual Folk Festival at Staebler Farm on September 19. From 10am-3pm, it's your chance to explore what the Mi Folk School has to offer. Folk School instructors will be showcasing their talents, making it a great time to find a new passion!

Next up, it's the fourth annual Independence Lake County Park Craft Show on September 26! A craft show by the beach? Yes, PLEASE! Get some holiday shopping done early as dozens of local crafters will be selling their goods. The craft show will be open 10am-4pm.

On October 3, we're starting Halloween early with Trek or Treat at Rolling Hills County Park! Dress up the family and gather some goodies at this Ypsilanti favorite event. Register online at washtenaw.org/registerparks

Last but certainly not least, we're bringing back the Fall Festival at County Farm Park! It's year two of this free community event, where we'll have apple tasting, pumpkin carving demonstrations, craft vendors, yard games, and much more. We'll see you at County Farm Park for some fall fun on October 10!

PS: there are still some spots for this year's Doggy Dip at Rolling Hills! This pup-tacular event is a must-visit for doggos and puppers alike. Register online for the September 12 event at washtenaw.org/registerparks!

BORDER-TO-BORDER TRAIL TEMPORARILY CLOSED

A segment of the Border-to-Border (B2B) Trail in Gallup Park, between the Geddes Dam and the fishing pond, is temporarily closed due to a potential safety concern.

Out of an abundance of caution, the trail will remain closed while the condition is evaluated, and additional engineering investigation is completed. Please do not enter the closed area and follow all posted trail closure signs, which will be installed early on Friday, Sept. 4. There is no designated detour route at this time.

The City will provide additional information as it becomes available. We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation while we work to ensure the trail is safe for public use.

It's (almost) story time at historical Parker Mill!

Stop by Parker Mill's famed cabin on Thursday, August 27, for stories, exploration, and play. Inspired by history, nature, and seasonal traditions, this week's story hour will feature the tale of the Little Red Hen as she grows, grinds, and griddles buckwheat pancakes. Story hour begins at 10:30am!
