HART Huron Valley

HART Huron Valley Our mission is to provide on-scene food and support services to Washtenaw County’s First Responders. Everyday emergency responders put their lives at risk.

Hart Huron Valley is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that provides on-site support services to emergency responders in Washtenaw County. Though the inherent dangers of their jobs are well known, extreme situations cause stress and fatigue that can jeopardize their safety and the wellbeing of those depending on them. By providing basic conveniences such as snacks, water, and a warm place to r

est, HART reduces the risk of injury and improves the morale of local emergency responders. HART was established in November 2014. The program’s formation was made possible by support from the Washtenaw County Mutual Aid Association (WAMAA) and Peace Lutheran Church, who manages the program. Thanks to the generous donation of a retired ambulance from Huron Valley Ambulance, HART is equipped with a vehicle that can arrive at the scene of a call to provide much needed services to emergency responders. HART relies on the support of sponsors, community members, and volunteers to serve and assist those who work so hard to keep our community safe.

Congratulations Fire Chief Michael Chevrette!

Please join us in congratulating Michael Chevrette on his promotion to Fire Chief of the Pittsfield Township Fire Department.
Chief Chevrette began his service to Pittsfield Township in 1999 as a paid-on-call firefighter and was hired as a career firefighter in 2004. His dedication and leadership led to promotions to Lieutenant in 2008 and Assistant Fire Chief in 2024, culminating in his appointment as Fire Chief.

Throughout his career, Chief Chevrette has remained committed to professional growth and excellence. He earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Studies from Siena Heights University and completed Eastern Michigan University’s Executive Fire Officer School – Fire Staff and Command.

In addition to his service at Pittsfield Township, Chief Chevrette has been a long-standing member of the Washtenaw County Technical Rescue Team, serving as Team Director for the past eight years, where he helped lead complex regional rescue operations and strengthen regional partnerships.

We are proud to have Chief Chevrette leading our department and look forward to continued growth, professionalism, and service to our community under his leadership.
