Summer Social Stroll

Join the Ann Arbor Senior Center staff for a social stroll around the charming Burns Park neighborhood! We’ll enjoy a one-mile, beginner-level walk on paved sidewalks. Pack your own water bottle, we will have a water refill station and provide a light snack after. Walk will be weather permitting (you will receive an email if the walk is cancelled, make sure to check your inbox). Meet in the parking lot of the Ann Arbor Senior Center, 1320 Baldwin Ave. Preregistration required. Call 734.794.6250. Free for members; $2, nonmembers.

Travels With George: Israel & Egypt
Thursday, June 4, 1:30-4 p.m.
Join us on a slide show travel adventure with George Jabol to Israel and Egypt, hosted by George Jabol. Our journey starts in Jerusalem’s Old City, where we’ll visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Western Wall, the Temple Mount, the Mount of Olives, and other religious sites. We’ll travel to Nazareth and then to Yad Vashem, which honors victims of the Holocaust, concluding with visits to Masada and the Dead Sea. Our Egypt itinerary begins with a tour of the old Cairo Museum, followed by an excursion to the pyramids at Giza. A side trip to Alexandria highlights its library, built in 2002. We’ll also visit the enormous Luxor and Karnak temples. Next we’ll board a Nile River cruise ship and go to ancient religious sites like Abydos, Dendera, and the Valley of the Kings at Thebes. Finally we’ll fly to southernmost Egypt to visit a monumental, unforgettable temple called Abu Simbel. Open to all ages 18+. Join Eleva Potter for this creative workshop! Make your own cyanotype prints with local plants and the sun! We'll spend a few minutes outside collecting plants and then we'll get to work on making prints. You can also add watercolors at the end. Be prepared to be outside.
