MFCC is a FREE clothing closet for children currently in foster care or placed with a relative.

☀️ Current items we are low on. FYI… we accept all seasons of clothing all year long. We accept new and gently used items except for socks, underwear, and hygiene products.

🎡📚 We’re excited to announce our Annual Back-to-School Carnival happening this August! This special event helps bring our community together while providing students and families with school supplies, clothing, shoes, fun activities, food, carnival type games, and resources to start the school year strong. ✏️🎒

We are currently seeking corporate and business sponsors who would like to partner with us in making this event a success. Sponsorship opportunities are a great way to give back to the community while also promoting your business to local families and supporters.

Typical sponsorship contributions range between $250–$500, and every donation helps us create a memorable and impactful experience for the children and families in in the foster care community.

✅ Community resources for families

We are incredibly grateful to Bombas for donating 8,250 pairs of socks to children in foster care! 🧦💙

Bombas believes that for every pair of socks purchased, a pair should be donated to someone in need. Their kindness and generosity is inspiring.

Supporting children in foster care isn’t just clothes and toiletries — it’s dreams too.

A budding musician who came in today went home with a new acoustic guitar! She was so giddy she was jumping her way into the car.

We love being able to support not only the immediate needs of our kids, but also their big big big plans!

At Michigan Foster Care Closet, we’re always looking for fun and meaningful ways to support the families and children we serve! 💙

In honor of National Foster Care Month, we’re hosting something special every Saturday during our open hours throughout May (except Saturday, May 23, when we’ll be closed).

Last Saturday we kicked things off with donuts, cider, swag, and information about how to support children in foster care. Tomorrow, we’re firing up the grill for a cookout with hotdogs, chips, and cookies! 🌭🍪

If you’re in the area, stop by and see us! Whether you’re donating or shopping, we’d love to connect with you.

Thank you to every child experiencing foster care, foster parent, caregiver, volunteer, and supporter. Through every high and low, we see you, appreciate you, and support you. 💙

☀️Weekends are something special for us.☀️

They bring a beautiful kind of energy that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. We see so many children and families come through our doors, each with their own stories, and moments that stay with us long after the day ends.

Alongside them, we’re surrounded by an incredible community of support. 💙 Generous donors stop by, showing up in ways that are jaw dropping. And our space comes alive with a house full of volunteers, people who give their time and passion.

It’s busy. It’s full. It’s sometimes a little chaotic.

And we love it.

Because every connection, every helping hand, every shared moment moves us forward. It’s a reminder that what we’re building together matters. That this community is strong, caring, and growing.

Weekends don’t just keep us going….they inspire us to keep dreaming bigger!! 🥰

We received an email bright and early this morning that five children needed immediate support.💕

Because of this community, our volunteers were able to pack bags just for them, filled with essentials and a few things to bring comfort during a really uncertain time.

It takes so many people to make moments like this possible. We are just one small part, but we are grateful to be able to show up for children when they need it most.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and help make this possible 💛

When a caseworker reaches out, we’re proud to be able to respond quickly 💙

In these photos, you’ll see two recent requests we were able to fulfill this morning:

The first was for a little girl in need of summer clothing (size 5T) and shoes (size 13). Not only were we able to meet that request, but thanks to our wonderful friends at Ticket to Dream Foundation we added a few extra fun items too. We hope this little one is dancing with joy in her new outfits and shoes 💃

The second request came for a 17-year-old girl who needed everyday essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, and even perfume. We’re happy to share that this request was fully fulfilled, with a few extras included to help her feel confident and cared for 💕

Because of our incredible donors and community, we’re able to say “yes” to these needs and get items into the hands of children quickly.
