North Wayne is now re-opened. Northcrest Dr will remain closed at this time.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – GAS LEAK / ROAD CLOSURE 🚨

The Angola Police Department is advising the public of a gas leak near the former Ruby Tuesday restaurant adjacent to Walmart.

⚠️ Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Road closures are in place while emergency crews work to safely address the situation.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as responders work to resolve the incident. Updates will be provided as they become available.

A special thank you to Brooke Ridenour for her generous donation of several LifeVac choking rescue devices. These devices will be placed in some of our patrol vehicles, with the goal of eventually equipping every patrol vehicle with one. We greatly appreciate her support and commitment to the safety of our community!

Their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment do not end when their shift does.

The Impact Institute Criminal Justice class, made up of juniors and seniors from Angola High School, Fremont High School, and Prairie Heights High School, recently completed a week of fi****ms training. The training focused on gun safety, cleaning and maintenance, proper stance and grip, and firearm laws, all led by course instructor Detective Wood of the Angola Police Department.

We are excited to host the Indiana School Safety Specialist Academy (ISSSA) Advanced Regional Training tomorrow (5/12/2026) at Angola High School! Personnel from our schools, other schools, and emergency services from surrounding communities will be attending this training to learn and share best practices for keeping our school communities safe.

As training activities take place throughout the day, community members may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles around the high school between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Thank you for your support as we work together to continue strengthening school safety.
