The Steuben County Soil & Water Conservation District and Purdue University Extension are partnering to host a Manure Management Workshop on September 16, 2026 from 2:00 – 7:00 PM at Stoy Farms, 6517 S 400 W, Ashley, IN 46705.
This workshop is designed for livestock producers, private and commercial applicators, landowners, and anyone interested in responsible manure management. Attendees will learn about water quality, nutrient management, best management practices for manure storage, staging, and record keeping, current regulations, emergency response planning, and more.

📚The Educational Session will be held from 2–5 p.m.
Topics Include:
- From Soils to Streams
- The 4 R’s of Nutrient Management
- BMP’s for Staging, Storage, and Record Keeping
- Regulations & Updates
- Emergency Response Planning: Roundtable Discussion
- Endangered Species Act for Private & Commercial Applicators (PARP credits)
PARP credits will be offered during the educational session for private and commercial applicators.
Commercial credits are available for all categories. A $10 fee applies to those seeking PARP credits, and payment may be made at the event. Applicators must be present for the entire educational program from 2:00 – 5:00 PM to receive credits.

🍽️Public Open House Chicken Dinner & Panel Discussion (5:00 – 7:00 PM)
Following the educational program, attendees & the public are invited to join us for a public open house chicken dinner, and panel discussion.
The Chicken Dinner is generously provided by Miller Poultry and the Steuben County SWCD.
The panel discussion will start by covering laws and regulations and then provide an opportunity to ask questions about manure management. Panel discussion questions must be submitted during the registration process.
Priority will be given to submitted questions, and questions at the event will not be accepted during the discussion.
