Classes may be over for most students, but a few learners spent some time sharpening their skills and working to improve their test scores with the help of some amazing teachers. Students spent their mornings in the classroom testing and learning, with a few breaks throughout to enjoy some sunshine on the playground. ☀️📚

National Junior Honor Society at Angola Middle School inducted a new group of deserving students during a special ceremony last week. Advisor Amy Sams welcomed everyone and highlighted the volunteer work current members have completed throughout the past year. Four current members recited the pillars on which NJHS is founded, and the new members signed the pledge. Principal Chris Baut congratulated the students on their achievements.

This year was especially remarkable because two AMS students, Addelyn Karns and Mason Boyd, were selected as recipients of the National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award. They were among just 500 students chosen from nearly 1 million NJHS members worldwide after an intensive application process. They were recognized for their commitment to the five pillars of NJHS: Character, Citizenship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service.

Congratulations to Addelyn and Mason! We look forward to seeing all the great philanthropy and leadership to come from NJHS.

The last week of school was filled with excitement and activity, but also a few quiet moments for learning. Mrs. Crankshaw’s class enjoyed one of those moments during “Favorite Book” Day when they welcomed a special guest reader. Superintendent Dr. Widenhoefer visited the class and shared his favorite book, A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon.

The Class of 2026 will officially graduate on Friday, but our Fire Science students already completed their pathway graduation on May 15th!
This marks the 3rd year of our Fire Science program, which prepares students with industry certifications that allow them to immediately begin working at many fire departments and stations.
We are incredibly proud of our 8 AHS students who chose to take on and complete this rigorous program.

Congratulations to all of our Fire Science graduates!
