Congratulations Chief!

Please join the City of Angleton in congratulating Karl Gingrich on his election as Fire Chief of the Angleton Fire Department!

Chief Gingrich joined AFD as a volunteer in March 2011. His fellow firefighters elected him Lieutenant in 2014 and Captain in 2015. In April 2016, he became the City’s first full-time Fire Captain.

He later served as a Deputy Fire Marshal with Brazoria County and now serves as Assistant Fire Marshal with Pearland. Throughout those career changes, he continued volunteering with AFD, returning to the rank of Captain in 2022 and being appointed Safety Officer in 2026. On September 24, 2026, he was elected Fire Chief.

Congratulations, Chief Gingrich, and thank you for your continued dedication to the department and the Angleton community!

The Angleton Fire Department extends our deepest condolences to the Stallman family during this unimaginable loss.

Our hearts are with everyone who knew and loved Austin. Please continue to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the difficult days ahead. 💙

Rest in peace, Austin. You will not be forgotten.

Dear community,

We are heartbroken to share the passing of Austin Stallman, Sheriff Bo Stallman’s son, early this morning. Austin began a great battle two weeks ago after suffering a heatstroke in College Station during a training program.

The immense outpouring of love, support, and encouragement the Stallmans have received from you all during this incredibly difficult time has not gone unnoticed. In fact, it’s what has kept our Department and the Stallmans strong. We cannot thank you enough and we will never forget.

We boldly ask Brazoria County for continued prayers and support as we stand by the Stallmans through their grief.

Today, the Angleton Fire Department will honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty during the September 11, 2001 attacks.

At designated times this morning, you will hear our sirens sound five times. Each sounding represents a moment we will never forget:

• 8:46 AM – First plane strikes the North Tower
• 9:03 AM – Second plane strikes the South Tower
• 9:37 AM – Attack on the Pentagon
• 9:59 AM – Collapse of the South Tower
• 10:28 AM – Collapse of the North Tower

These sirens serve as a reminder of the sacrifice, courage, and commitment of those who answered their final alarm.

We ask our community to take a moment of silence as the sirens sound and join us in remembering the lives lost and the heroes who gave everything.

🇺🇸 Never Forget

🇺🇸Firefighter Friday looks a little different this year.🇺🇸

Today, we honor the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Twenty-five years later, we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the families and fellow firefighters who carry their memory every day.

Behind each of these faces is a name, a family, and a story that deserves to be remembered.

343 firefighters. 343 lives of service. Never forgotten.

🇺🇸 Take a flag. Place a flag. Remember a hero.

Come by Station 1 today and help us place 343 flags in remembrance of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Bring your family, place a flag, and take a moment to honor their sacrifice as we approach the 25th anniversary.

Tonight is also meeting night! If you stop by before 7 PM, you may get a chance to meet some of our firefighters as they arrive. We’d love to see y’all! ❤️
