The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office is a local law enforcement agency serving over 346,000 citizens of Brazoria County and spreading over 1,597 square miles. . It is located at 3602 CR 45 Angleton, Texas which is approximately five miles north of the City of Angleton, Texas which is the County Seat of Brazoria County. The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office was founded in 1836 making it the oldest law enforcement agency in the State of Texas.

‼️ Public Service Announcement: Scam Alert ‼️

We've become aware of a scam that is going on in our community targeting families of individuals who are or were recently in our custody. Citizens reported receiving phone calls from someone falsely claiming to be an employee of the criminal justice system, to include members of the Sheriff’s Office, probation officers, county clerks, and the like, requesting electronic payment for bonds to be posted, or fees associated with ankle monitors and breath intoxilyzers.

The Sheriff’s Office does not and will never solicit money over the phone, electronically, or directly from citizens.

If anyone contacts you claiming to be a Sheriff’s Office employee and asks for personal information, financial details, or payment of any kind:

• Hang up immediately.
• Call the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office non‑emergency line at 979‑864‑2200 to verify the legitimacy of the call.

Your vigilance helps protect our community from fraud. Please share this information to help prevent others from becoming victims.

Operation Washout – Texas Tide

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) recently participated in a multiagency initiative led by the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitives Task Force – Galveston. The operation brought together federal, state, and local law enforcement in a sustained effort to apprehend violent fugitives and other high-risk offenders throughout counties within the Southern District of Texas.

We knew going in that each day would require our teams to be fluid and adapt as new information and targets developed. Throughout the operation, our SEU deputies were able to identify, pursue, and apprehend violent criminals while embodying the core values of our Sheriff’s Office.

SEU worked tirelessly, targeting high crime areas while continuously developing and identifying new targets throughout the operational period. We would like to highlight the efforts of our Fugitive Apprehension deputies as they worked around the clock and operated in every capacity necessary to get the job done.

From developing cases and conducting surveillance to successful apprehensions and pursuing wanted subjects on foot, our SEU deputies consistently demonstrated dedication, tenacity, and professionalism. Their efforts made a significant impact in locating and apprehending wanted violent offenders in Brazoria County and beyond.

National Night Out empowers residents to build strong, safe communities by getting to know their neighbors and forging meaningful connections with law enforcement. Texas will celebrate with statewide NNO block parties on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate participation in crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community relations.

Residents in neighborhoods throughout Brazoria County are asked to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and spend the evening outside with their neighbors, officers, and city/county officials. Whether you're hosting a cookout, block party, or neighborhood walk, sign up to join the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office on National Night Out!

News Release | On August 28, 2025, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding allegations of inappropriate relationships between an Angleton High School teacher, identified as Holly Schroedter Adams, and students.

Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office investigators subsequently initiated a lengthy and intensive investigation, which included conducting a multitude of interviews with both current and former students and examining evidence related to the allegations.

Following the extensive investigation, the case was presented to a Brazoria County Grand Jury. On August 25, 2026, the Sheriff’s Office received indictments related to the investigation. Adams was subsequently taken into custody and charged with 1 count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a third degree felony, and 2 counts of Purchasing/Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, class A misdemeanor.

Holly Schroedter Adams was booked in the Brazoria County Detention Center today on bonds totaling $26,000 and released this afternoon, August 25.

News Release | Predator Arrested for Child Po*******hy, 3 First Degree Felony Charges

On August 14, 2026, members of the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, assisted by members of the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, executed a search warrant in the 900 block of Southside Drive in Angleton, Texas, as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of child sexual exploitation.

During the course of the investigation, the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Edward Lawrence Diaz III of Angleton, was found to be in possession of multiple items of Child Sexual Abuse Material, commonly referred to as child po*******hy.

As a result of evidence located during the ex*****on of the search warrant, Diaz was taken into custody and charged with three counts of Possession of Child Po*******hy involving videos depicting the sexual assault of a child. These offenses are first degree felonies each punishable up to life in prison.

BCSO Investigators are aware that the location of the investigation is in close proximity to Southside Elementary School. At this time, we have found no indication that any students from Southside Elementary School are involved in or connected to the investigation.
