Safety Sunday: Pest & Insect Prevention

🪳🐜 Pest & Insect Prevention Reminder 🐝🦟

As warmer weather arrives, pests and insects become more active and can quickly find their way into our homes and buildings. A few simple steps can help keep them out:

✔️ Keep doors and windows properly sealed
✔️ Repair torn screens and gaps around entry points
✔️ Store food in sealed containers
✔️ Take out trash regularly and keep lids closed
✔️ Eliminate standing water around your home
✔️ Keep outdoor areas clean and free of debris

Preventing pests not only protects your home, but also helps reduce health risks and potential fire hazards from infestations near wiring and equipment.

A little prevention goes a long way in keeping your home safe, clean, and comfortable!

D-Day Remembrance

Today we honor the courage, sacrifice, and heroism of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.

D-Day marked a turning point in history and stands as a powerful reminder of the bravery shown by those who fought for freedom. We remember the soldiers who faced overwhelming odds with unwavering courage and commitment.

As we reflect on their sacrifice, may we never forget the price paid for liberty and peace.

❤️ We remember the fallen.
🤍 We honor the brave.
💙 We thank our heroes.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Harnett County Emergency Services staff from Emergency Management Division, EMS Division, and the Fire Marshal’s Office attended the groundbreaking ceremony this morning for the new Fire Training Center that will be constructed on the Central Carolina Community College Harnett Main Campus.

This facility will be a tremendous asset to Angier & Black River FD and all first responders across our region as they continue pursuing high-quality training to better serve their communities.

We are grateful for the support and leadership of Senator Jim Burgin, Representative Howard Penny, and Representatives Joe Pike for helping make this project possible through funding provided by the North Carolina General Assembly.

Their partnership and commitment, alongside the Harnett County Fire Chiefs Association and Central Carolina Community College, helped turn this long-awaited vision into a reality for Harnett County.
