UPDATED at 12 PM: Phone service has been restored - we appreciate your patience!

AM Post:
As of Tuesday morning, we continue to experience issues with our primary phone system, particularly affecting inbound calls. Families may encounter busy signals or difficulty reaching school offices. Verizon has a repair crew on-site today working to address the issue and restore normal phone operations.

In the meantime, if you need to contact your child’s school, please email the school principal or front office staff. They are aware of the situation and prepared to respond promptly. We appreciate your patience and will provide an update as soon as normal service is restored.

The Andover School Committee is pleased to announce the finalists for the APS Superintendent Search. Following months of community outreach through focus groups, informal forums and surveys, and a competitive process that drew 36 applications, the Screening Committee has identified and interviewed a strong slate of candidates who reflect the priorities and values shared by our community.

We are grateful to the APS community and the screening committee members who participated in this process. Your input helped shape the candidate profile and guided the search effort to ensure the screening committee identified candidates best suited to lead Andover Public Schools into the future.

👏👏👏

Yesterday marked the conclusion of the first-ever Youth Leadership Academy, a youth-focused version of the popular Andover Leadership Academy offered through a partnership between Andover Youth Services and the Town Manager’s Office.

Throughout the school year on half days, a group of Andover Public Schools students participated in the program to gain an inside look at how local government works. Students visited facilities across Town, including the Public Safety Center, Department of Public Works, and Town Offices, and met with Town officials and staff to learn more about the services, operations, and decision-making that keep the community running each day.

The Youth Leadership Academy is designed to inspire the next generation of civic leaders by helping young people better understand local government and encouraging them to become active and engaged members of the community.

🎶 A Proud Moment for Andover Public Schools! 🎶

Andover Public Schools (APS) has been named a Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation for the fifth consecutive year. APS is among a select group of school districts in Massachusetts to receive this prestigious national recognition.

Now in its 27th year, the BCME program honors districts that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to high-quality and equitable music education. In 2026, more than 1,000 districts nationwide were recognized, and Andover continues to stand out for its investment in access, innovation, and excellence.

From expanded elementary theater programs and new middle school ensembles to advanced high school courses and increased access to instruments, APS music and arts programs continue to grow and thrive. This recognition reflects the dedication of our students, educators, families, and community partners who make these opportunities possible.

Cloudy skies did not dull the spirit at Andover High School as students walked through the Hope Garden of bright yellow tulips!
Planted and designed by AHS students over the course of the school year, the Hope Garden features about 1,600 yellow tulips in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month in May.

Through the Yellow Tulip Project, students lead the way in encouraging open, supportive conversations about mental health and reminding one another that hope is always present. It is wonderful to see our students supporting each other! 💛

Today, Sanborn Elementary students and staff proudly celebrate “Mr. Chuck” Day in honor of Sanborn's custodian, Chuck Sarcione. Mr. Chuck’s hard work, dedication, and friendly presence make a difference every day, especially through a long winter full of snow and busy mornings. Sanborn’s Student Council planned the surprise celebration and every Sanborn student wrote Mr. Chuck a card filled with gratitude and kind words!

This year marks an exciting milestone, as Mr. Chuck celebrates 10 years of service in the Andover community. While he may prefer to stay behind the scenes, we could not miss the chance to recognize all that he does for our students and staff.

Thank you, Mr. Chuck, for everything you do. Sanborn is lucky to have you! 💙👏
