The Town of Andover has been awarded a $5 million MBTA Communities Catalyst Fund grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to support targeted infrastructure improvements in the River Road corridor.

The funding will support roadway, sidewalk, and utility improvements that will accommodate a proposed housing development at 100 Old River Road, while also preparing the corridor for additional growth in the future. The investment marks a step forward in the Town's efforts to stimulate new development along River Road by introducing new housing opportunities in an area that has historically served as a major commercial and employment center.

Water mains are the backbone of Andover’s water distribution system, delivering clean drinking water from the Water Treatment Plant to homes and businesses throughout the community.

At this years Town meeting, voters approved an increase in the Town's annual investment in this aging infrastructure. This video follows a construction crew as they work to replace the water main on Lowell Street.
