Have you met Tay, our Postal Clerk? She’s been here since April 25th and our Post Office has been open according to the schedule. (She parks in the back.) This Saturday might be her last day though. She has lasted longer than the lady before her.... that one only made it two weeks. Go by there today and introduce yourself. If we can let her know how much our Post Office means to our community maybe we could convince her to stick it out a little longer!

The Sumter County Fire Rescue will be testing the fire hydrants on the City of Andersonville’s water system and documenting the condition of every hydrant as well as the flow and pressure at each hydrant.

When they’re testing you may notice:
• Water running along the ditches
• Temporary discoloration in your water
• Reduced water pressure
• Possible clogged faucet aerators

To help minimize discoloration try to limit water use while firefighters are testing hydrants.

If your water looks cloudy/milky or rusty after testing is complete, run cold water from faucets until the water clears.

***For the quickest clearing, run water from an outside spigot first — this helps keep sediment out of your faucet aerators and appliances.***

Discolored water is safe, but it CAN stain clothes. If this happens, keep the clothes wet and treat them with a stain remover like Iron Out.

PLEASE NOTE: There is not a set day or time because the Fire Department has perform testing as their schedule allows.

Thank you for your patience. Let us know if you have any questions.
