Anderson-Shiro Elementary Families,

We are currently experiencing an air conditioning outage at Anderson-Shiro Elementary. Unfortunately, we have been unable to restore the system, and with temperatures continuing to rise today, we have made the decision to dismiss elementary students this morning. Please come through the car rider line, and we will have staff available ​for you to sign your child out.

We know an unexpected early dismissal can create challenges for families. If your child does not have a parent/guardian or another approved adult available to receive them, please do not worry. We will relocate those students to an air-conditioned district facility where they will remain supervised by district staff until our regular dismissal time.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work to keep our students and staff safe and comfortable. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Homecoming Week is September 14–18, and we have a fun-filled week planned for our students, families, and community!

But first… Friday Night Lights start TONIGHT! 🏈 If you’re looking for a way to kick off the season with some Owl spirit, make the trip to to cheer on our Fighting Owls as they take on the Lovelady Lions!

Then, get ready for Little Owls Cheer Camp, our Community Pep Rally, dress-up days, the Homecoming Pep Rally, and Friday night’s big Homecoming game!

Be ready to pack the stands, show our Owl pride, and celebrate all week long as AS 1 TEAM! 💙

We are excited to welcome Jennifer Wallace to our Owl Family as an Instructional Assistant at Anderson-Shiro Junior/Senior High!

Mrs. Wallace earned her Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University. Six years ago, when her youngest child started kindergarten, she began working as a substitute teacher in Cy-Fair. Last year, she continued her work in education as a paraprofessional at Sprague Middle School.

Mrs. Wallace and her family recently moved to the area from Cypress, Texas. She is married to her husband, Travis, and they have four children: Carson, Callie, Caleb, and Carly. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her kids play sports—which is where you can usually find her!

We are excited about the experience and energy she will bring to our students. Welcome to the Owl Family, Mrs. Wallace!
