5th grader, Joshua Payton, wrote a persuasive essay on why he should be principal for the day. After submissions, revisions, and strong final draft submission, his request was approved. Mr. Payton and Dr. Arroyo agreed to switch places today. Things started off well, then the new 5th grader, Nikki Arroyo, was caught with her cellphone and was not meeting NPES RAMS expectations. Mr. Payton explained that, "we are RAMS and we do not act that way in his school." Nikki spent time in ABI to reflect on her actions and learn some deescalation strategies. 3 hours into the switch, Mr. Payton announced his early retirement so he could enjoy some time with his friends. He learned that there is no time to sit down, there is always a need, and somehow, there are always snacks laying around. Great job, Mr. Payton. Welcome back, Dr. Arroyo!
