UpState California Film Commission Announces Leadership Transition and Continued Industry Partnership
Redding, CA — After a decade of leadership and growth with the UpState California Film Commission (UCFC), Regional Film Commissioner Sabrina Jurisich has announced she will be transitioning from her role effective June 30, 2026.
During her tenure, Jurisich helped expand the organization from serving Shasta County to becoming a regional film office supporting Shasta, Tehama, Yuba, and Sutter Counties. Under her leadership, the region strengthened its reputation as a film-friendly destination, supported hundreds of productions, fostered relationships across the entertainment industry, and worked closely with community partners to promote economic development through filmmaking.
"Serving this region through the Film Commission has been far more than a job — it has fostered purpose, passion, and community," said Jurisich. "I entered this industry not knowing what to expect and found an incredible network built on collaboration, creativity, perseverance, and heart."
Throughout her career with UCFC, Jurisich also served on the board of Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS), participated in major industry events including FOCUS London and the Cannes Film Festival, became a founding board member of FilmUSA, and as part of FLICS worked alongside the California Film Commission in support of the renewal and expansion of the California Film & Television Tax Credit Program.
While stepping away from UCFC, Jurisich will continue working within the film industry. Beginning July 1, 2026, she will officially begin a new role with FLICS, supporting statewide efforts to promote California as a premier filming destination.
"This new opportunity allows me to continue advocating for California and working alongside colleagues and friends I deeply respect," Jurisich shared. "FLICS has been instrumental in strengthening film production throughout the state, and I am incredibly honored to continue supporting that mission."
UCFC also announced new leadership appointments for the regional film offices. Local filmmaker Tyler Lockamy will serve as Film Liaison for Shasta and Tehama Counties, while David Read of the Yuba Sutter Arts Council will serve as Film Liaison for Yuba and Sutter Counties.
The UCFC Board expressed confidence in the transition and future of the organization, noting that the new leadership team will continue building strong relationships with filmmakers, businesses, agencies, and local communities throughout the region.
Jurisisch added, "The support from our communities, stakeholders, businesses, filmmakers, and partners over the years has meant more than words can express. I remain deeply grateful for everyone who believed in the vision of growing filming in our region."
UCFC will host an event June 4th in Redding as well as an event in Santa Monica on June 28, 2026, where attendees will have an opportunity to meet Tyler Lockamy.
