Karen Huntley was present to address the Board. She has been having an issue with people trespassing on her property. She wanted to inform residents that her road is a private road. (2nd Street East at 10th Avenue) It is clearly marked as not having an outlet and that it is a private road. She also has No Trespassing signs posted. Karen presented multiple pictures of different people that are literally in her yard. This pertains to people walking, dogs, bikes, golf carts etc. She asked the Trustees to help her inform residents that her property is private. The Mayor and Trustees agreed to help her get the word out to residents.
Please take note and respect her property lines.

If your grass needs to be mowed, now is the time to get it done.

ORDINANCE NO: 607
The Village Clerk may provide for the removal of weeds and/or grass over eight [8] inches in height on private property within the Village of Andalusia when the owner of such property, after reasonable notice, refuses or neglects to cut said weeds or grass.
Reasonable notice shall consist of one (1) publication of this section in a newspaper of general circulation within the Village. The Village Clerk may also give notice by letter if the property owner is in violation of this section and given a ten (10) day time period to arrange for the removal of weeds and grass currently in violation of this Section. [Chapter 7 Section 6-7-2 of the Andalusia Village Code]
This letter will also constitute reasonable notice for the remainder of the growing season. If subsequent violations are observed during the same growth season, the grass and weeds will be cut immediately and the owner will be billed for the cost thereof. The owner will be billed eighty dollars ($80.00) per man hour with a one (1) hour minimum plus Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) per hour per piece of equipment used. There is also a One Hundred Dollar ($100.00) administration fee.

A little update from Public Works. We are set up to pump flood water. Pumps are all working good. What i wanted to share. On 2nd Ave west between 7th st w and 8th st west you may notice some water over the road. I am 100 % aware of the situation and have tried to keep it from happening with little luck. Something to work on when water goes back where it is supposed to. So please use caution and drive slow through the water. It is only a couple inches deep. If for some reason you notice it is really deep please give me a call. Crest is coming at end of the week.

On another note I personally have no idea when they will be here for recycling or trash that didnt get picked up. Have a great day Andalusia.

Hi. Im a bit upset that I have to even message this or ask this to be posted on the Andalusia page. My husband, myself and my nephew recently moved into the community. It has come to my attention that law enforcement was called on my nephew for being intoxicated in public. I can assure you he does not drink. My 30 year old nephew was diagnosed with Ataxia. It is a genetic condition similar to cerebral palsy that attacks basic motor skills and his neurological abilities. He walks to try exercising and maintaining his basic motor skills. He is a good guy and would never cause harm to anyone. Instead of people being quick to judge or falsely accuse him, talk to him, ask him about his genetic condition. All he wants is to live his life as best as he can despite his own genetics fighting him every day just to function. Thank you

The Village of Andalusia was represented well helping Andalusia 5th grade at JA Biztown. Mayor Pittard gave an opening speech. Public Works Director Justin, and Frie Chief Justin all helped the day be a fun success!!!
