Home weatherization may help reduce the costs of your energy bills.
Weatherization is the process of making improvements to a building to improve energy efficiency, and it may contribute to the occupants’ safety and comfort. Common weatherization steps include:
• A professional home energy assessment
• Air sealing and insulating
• Improving ventilation
• Increasing the efficiency of heating systems
• Other energy efficiency improvements
• Health and safety improvements
No-cost weatherization may be available to Alaskans with moderate- to low-income who live in a single-family home, a small multifamily building (2-4 units) or a mobile home. Alaskans can apply through the service provider for their region.
