Anchorage Trail Watch

Anchorage Trail Watch Trail Watch is keeping Anchorage trails safe. The concept is very basic - trail users looking out for each other and making a commitment to call and inform.
(1)

Trail Watch volunteers make trails safer in 5 main ways:
1) Being a visible presence on trails by wearing armbands or vests with Trail Watch logo.
2) Reporting crime & suspicious acts.
3) Reporting unsafe conditions.
4) Reporting litter and vandalism.
5) Helping on projects to make our trails safer. Studies show that crime prevention can be effective by passive action. If local trails are

filled with volunteers wearing Trail Watch gear and carrying cell phones, this sends a strong message to criminals that they are unwelcome. Trail Watch volunteers do not get involved in incidents on the trails systems (other than basic first aid for medical emergencies). Trail Watch volunteers are simply there to make our trails a little bit safer by looking out for each other and for you!
