Habitat for Humanity - Anchorage At Habitat, we believe that everyone deserves a decent place to live. In 2022 we are excited about some new iniatives, more info to follow soon.

We change lives right here in Anchorage by building and renovating simple, decent and affordable homes and by lending our voice to make adequate housing a matter of conscience and action. Habitat sells its houses at cost, with no down payment and a 0% mortgage loan to low income Anchorage families and individuals. We partner with people of any race, sex, age, disability, religion, familial status

or national origin. Our partners are mentored for success in the areas of basic home ownership skills and financial management. Partners also contribute "sweat equity" by volunteering between 250-500 hours of their time throughout the build year. Habitat is a hand up and not a hand out.

Take a look at part of our building’s transformation.👀

This space, which was previously used as an office, is being transformed into a Restore showroom.
The walls that once divided it into multiple rooms have been removed to create one large, open area.The wall at the entrance is also taken down soon, making the space even more open and inviting.

We’re still a work in progress and counting on your support.
Habitat’s mission is not to own buildings.

Our mission is to ensure that families have a safe, affordable place to call home and the support they need to thrive long after they receive their keys.
This new home is the foundation that will allow us to carry that mission forward with strength and stability for years to come.

🔸OUR OFFICE SPACE
Previously, the second floor office space was covered with old carpeting, but it has now been transformed with beautiful new green carpet tiles.


A huge thank you to Big Bob's Flooring Outlet for generously donating this soft and beautiful carpet.

This updated space is already bringing new life and warmth to the building, and it will help create a more welcoming and comfortable environment for our staff, volunteers, and community members.

Sneak peek at our new building 👀

This second floor space will become a community room for homeowner education classes, events, and workshops.
However, we currently do not have the funding needed to renovate it.

A huge thank you to the volunteers from Saginaw Valley State University for helping us this week!

They traveled all the way from Michigan to Alaska to support both our ReStore and new building projects.

Over the past two days, they’ve helped organize the couch section at the ReStore and set up the lighting aisle as part of our ongoing renovation and move preparations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our wine tasting event.

Ema from Vinera Wine Society brought a wonderful selection of refreshing wines that were perfect for the upcoming summer season. We were thrilled to enjoy them with more than 30 guests once again.

We’re planning to host this event again in this fall.

Happy Earth Day!🌎
And a huge thank you to everyone who came to our recycling event last Saturday!

We received a wonderful number of spring cleaning donations.
Many of our partners’ trucks were filled to capacity, and our ReStore warehouse is now full of donated items.

These items will find new life in another home while continuing to support our community.♻💙
