Come spend the day with your local volunteer firefighters and EMTs for an afternoon of hands-on activities, family fun, and an inside look at what we do to serve our community.

๐Ÿš‘ Ride-Alongs โ€“ Take a ride in one of our fire department vehicles.

๐Ÿงฏ Fire Extinguisher Training โ€“ Learn how to properly use a fire extinguisher and then put your skills to the test using a water extinguisher.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Fire & EMS Equipment Displays โ€“ Get hands-on with the tools and equipment firefighters and EMTs use every day.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’ Try on Fire Gear โ€“ See what firefighters wear and experience the equipment that helps keep us safe on emergency scenes.

๐Ÿ“ธ Meet Sparky the Fire Dog โ€“ Stop by for photos and meet everyone's favorite firehouse mascot.

๐Ÿ… Junior Firefighter Challenge โ€“ Kids can complete fun firefighter-themed activities and earn a certificate recognizing their accomplishment.

๐ŸŒญ Hamburgers & Hot Dogs โ€“ Enjoy food while spending time with neighbors, friends, and family.

Most importantly, this is an opportunity to connect with your local volunteers, learn more about the department, and enjoy a day of community, pride, and fun.

We look forward to welcoming you to the station and sharing what makes CVFRD, and the community we serve, so special. โค๏ธ๐Ÿš’

โœจGirdwoodโœจ You may notice us in your neighborhood as we continue Phase 1 of our community wildfire research project.

Weโ€™re conducting quick roadside observations to help us better understand wildfire risk in Girdwood and support future planning, outreach, and mitigation efforts.

*This is just the beginning* Later this summer, you will receive a survey in the mail - this is your opportunity to voice your concerns and let us know how we can better serve you. Your participation in this project is key!

๐Ÿ“ฃ๐Ÿ“ฃAlso๐Ÿ“ฃ๐Ÿ“ฃ Don't forget: This Saturday (June 6) is Girdwood's community wildfire mitigation day. Girdwood Fire and Rescue and Chugach Electric have partnered again to offer free brush chipping from 10-2 in the park and ride lot.
