The Borough had an item delivered to King Cove by LCA on Tuesday June 9th, but it hasn't made its way to our office yet. It may have been picked up with another package by mistake.

The Alaska Attorney General just invoked the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act (AS 39.52) to void all five fishing regulations that threatened our communities' way of life. Every single one. Gone.

We raised these concerns through every proper channel. We were ignored. We took legal action. Today, the state's own ethics enforcement process proved we were right.

This is a victory for every family in this Borough whose livelihood depends on these fisheries — and a clear message that our communities will not be silenced when the process fails us.

Please check out this Navigational Safety Advisory for the False Pass area.

USCG Advisory: Mariners are advised that all Aids to Navigation (ATON) buoys near False Pass and Bechevin Bay are reported missing with the exception of Bechevin Bay Buoy 23. lsanotski Strait Light 3 is also reported as extinguished.
Caution: Due to the high number of missing and discrepant aids to navigation, local knowledge and experience are highly recommended to transit the area. Mariners are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating in False Pass and Bechevin Bay.
Coast Guard Response: The U.S. Coast Guard plans to address these discrepancies as soon as operations permit during the June 2026 ATON Patrol.

The Cold Bay Dock will remain closed to all recreational use and foot traffic until further notice.

At this time, the dock will be used strictly for supply operations to allow Coastal to deliver freight. No individuals will be permitted on the dock to pick up freight. Instead, the City will transport all freight to the landing across from the dock for individual pickup.

The Borough is working on removing the damaged section of the dock. Once the damaged section has been removed and repairs are completed, the dock will reopen to normal use.

The dock should be operational for the ferry since the first ferry is not scheduled to arrive until June.
