Thank you Commissioner Ryan and the State of AK DoT team for moving this critical work forward.

A major milestone for the King Cove-Cold Bay Road Project: a barge carrying equipment and materials has arrived in King Cove, supporting stockpiling and preparations for the work ahead.

DOT&PF is proud to work alongside the King Cove community. In fewer than five days, more than 20 local residents took time away during the fishing season to complete safety training and earn DOT&PF certificates supporting their participation in this important project. Five additional community members are enrolled in a four-week course to earn their Class A commercial driver’s licenses.

This investment is about more than building a road-it is also about creating local skills, employment opportunities, and lasting benefits. We are honored to work with the people of King Cove to advance a road the community has sought for generations.

This Sunday, we celebrate 54 years since Aleut was incorporated on June 21, 1972, as one of the 13 original Alaska Native corporations under ANCSA.

This day is a milestone that reflects the strength, resilience, and vision of our Unangax̂ people. Since 1972, that foundation has shaped how Aleut supports our shareholders, strengthens communities, and creates lasting impact.

With more than 5,000 shareholders and descendants and a growing future ahead, we continue building on the legacy that brought us here.

2026 Nominating Packets for the Aleut Board of Directors are now available!

The Aleut Board of Directors consists of nine members who each serve a 3-year term. Every year, three seats are open for election. In order to hold a position on the Board of Directors, candidates must be Aleut shareholders and at least 18 years of age.

🗓️ The deadline to submit your nominating packet is June 12 at 5:00 p.m. ASKT.
