🔊 Outdoor Warning Siren Growl Test Today 🔊

Today at 4:00 PM, Chambers County will conduct a growl test of the county’s outdoor warning sirens.

During this test, you may still hear the siren. This is a routine system check to help ensure the sirens remain operational and ready for use during emergencies.

Outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are outdoors of imminent hazards, such as:
🌪️ Tornado Warnings
☣️ Certain hazardous materials incidents

Remember, outdoor warning sirens are not intended to be heard indoors. Always have multiple ways to receive emergency information.

📱 Be sure you’re signed up for ChambersWarns to receive official emergency alerts and important notifications.

Thank you for helping us keep Chambers County prepared and safe!

💰 Saving money. Building resilience. Protecting Chambers County.

A smart investment is paying off for Chambers County property owners.

Beginning October 1, 2026, eligible flood insurance policyholders will automatically qualify for premium discounts through the National Flood Insurance Program's Community Rating System (CRS).

✔️ 15% discount in unincorporated Chambers County
✔️ 10% discount in eligible incorporated cities

Thanks to the hard work of our Floodplain Management team and the support of Commissioners Court, Chambers County is now one of only seven county governments in Texas participating in the CRS program.

The result? An estimated $250,000 in annual savings for local homeowners and businesses—money that stays where it belongs: in the pockets of our residents.

Be sure to contact your flood insurance provider after October 1 to confirm your policy reflects the new discount.

Learn more by contacting the Chambers County Road & Bridge Department at 409-267-2708.
