The Friends of Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge's 2026 Photo Contest is over and the winning photo has been chosen. This year's winning photo is an excellent photo of a pair of Black-necked Stilts taken by Fred Hennig. Fred wins a GoPro Hero 13 Black.

Fireflies are fascinating wouldn’t you agree?

We have the Glow Patrol Volunteers from Armand Bayou Nature Center at the Visitor Center on May 30, 2026. After a 15 minute presentation, we will take a guided walk on the Cypress Trail to witness flashing fireflies. This will be a fascinating event for young and old alike so be there by 8:15 PM to join in the fun. We are located at 4017 FM 563, Anahuac, Texas. We hope to see you there!!
