Yesterday, our Traffic Section competed alongside law enforcement agencies from across SoCal at the Annual SoCal Traffic Officers' Association Motor Rodeo in Huntington Beach.

They tested their skills in the extreme heat and brought home some hardware!

Proceeds go towards supporting the community’s non-profit Cops for Kids | APAL community youth programs.

Cops-4-Kids programs aim to establish positive relationships among Anaheim's youth, police, and the community at large. C4K's goals are to provide alternatives to gangs, drugs, and other criminal activities through a vast array of programs. These programs help youth develop a positive self-image and successful interpersonal skills which will encourage them to stay in school and play a constructive role in the community.

Anaheim Confidential is a true-crime presentation told in person by the Anaheim Police Department Homicide Detectives who were on the case. Prior to the presentation, you can enjoy food from a variety of local restaurants and food trucks, beer from local craft breweries, wine, live music and bid on a silent auction.

Includes food, beer, wine, a DJ, and a silent auction.

A portion of the fundraising goes to the Orange County Homicide Investigators Association for a fund to assist victims of violent crimes and their families.

Appointments are available for our Car Seat Check-Up TODAY!

Stop by the OC Family Justice Center between 4-7pm for a free car seat installation and safety check-up.

Walk-ups are welcome based on availability.

Appointments are encouraged! Each installation takes about 30 minutes. The last appointment is at 6:30pm.

On April 25, 2021, Anaheim Police officers responded to the 200 block of E. Clifton Street, where, 34-year-old, Francisco Villagomez had been shot and killed.

APD Homicide Detectives identified Fernando Garcia as the suspect. Garcia fled following the shooting, but the next day, investigators located and arrested him in San Bernardino.

On August 10, 2026, after a lengthy trial, a jury found Garcia guilty of first-degree murder along with a firearm enhancement for discharging a firearm during the commission of the murder.

Garcia faces 50 years to life in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on October 16.

We are proud of the many members of the Anaheim Police Department who played an important role in the successful investigation, prosecution, and ultimate outcome of this case. Their dedication and persistence helped ensure Garcia was held accountable and faced justice.

Human trafficking is driven by demand. When people pay for s*x, they contribute to an industry where vulnerable people are exploited for profit. That’s why our enforcement efforts also focus on those creating that demand.

On Wednesday evening, the OCHTTF, APD’s Community Policing Team, APD Traffic Control Assistants, APD Detention Officers, Anaheim patrol officers and investigators from the CA Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) conducted a collaborative operation targeting prostitution-related activity in Anaheim.

The operation resulted in 10 arrests and the identification of one suspected pimp.

At Anaheim PD, combating human trafficking is a year-round commitment. We proudly serve as the lead law enforcement agency for the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force (OCHTTF).

Through ongoing enforcement and collaboration with victim service organizations like , we remain committed to holding accountable those who fuel or profit from exploitation while connecting victims and survivors with support and resources.
