Yesterday in Anaheim, we stood together and spoke from the heart.

We talked about rising costs, families feeling the pressure, and the reality so many are facing right now. We reminded folks that their voice matters — and that accountability starts with how and who we vote for.

We stood with working people, with immigrant families, with mothers and young people who refuse to stay silent. In English and Spanish, the message was clear: you are not alone — we’re in this together.

This is about community. This is about dignity. This is about showing up.

No kings. Just people.

Congratulations to on winning the Democratic nomination for NYC Mayor. This is a huge win for working families, and a stunning loss for the establishment wing of the party.

His campaign shows us that an unwavering focus on affordability, universal programs that tangibly improve working families lives, fighting inequality, and being unapologetic on human rights- local and abroad - is popular in the Democratic Party.

On the heels of 128 congressional democrats voting against Trump’s impeachment, many of whom also take money from corporate interests, let Mamdani’s victory point us to where the party needs to move: towards a party focused on delivering for working families and fighting wealth inequality over corporate interests.

Let’s bring this energy to OC and California. The west coast has a lot to learn from the east coast.

Proud to attend the CA Democratic Convention right here in my district! It was great connecting with folks from all across the state and having the opportunity to speak to the crowd. Now is not the time to hold back — let’s keep pushing forward together.

It was a terrific day for the grand opening of WISEPLACE on Broadway, a project that combines historic preservation and new construction to provide Permanent Supportive Housing for 47 individuals currently experiencing homelessness.

The opening of this project, in the heart of Santa Ana, marks a milestone in the effort to support vulnerable residents escaping domestic violence, with stable and supportive housing that truly addresses their needs.

Having the opportunity to support this project from its inception to completion is incredibly gratifying. It is not often that one gets to see a project go from an idea, through planning, financing, and construction, and come to fruition- this is a special project for me, from my time as Santa Ana Mayor and now as Supervisor for the Second District.

The strong partnership with Jamboree Housing, the City of Santa Ana, WISEPlace, and the County shows what is needed to make a difference in the lives of our residents.

Fighting the Oligarchy with over 36,000 people in Gloria Molina Park this past weekend. Great to be with other strong, progressive leaders , , , , etc, who all stand against inequality, concentrated power, and refuse to take corporate money.

This is not a normal time in history. We need more people in both parties willing to take the hard road of turning down corporate money, and willing to fight for Medicare for all, immigrants rights, and freedom of speech.

Today, I had the honor of officiating three weddings at the Old County Courthouse! A huge thank you to OC Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen and his incredible team for making Valentine’s Day so special for so many happy couples. It was also great to see doing double duty—officiating and covering for ! Congrats to all the newlyweds, and Happy Valentine’s Day!

Yesterday was powerful! With only 10 days left until Election Day, it’s time to get out and make our voices heard! We gathered at Carpenters Hall to support Derek Tran, a candidate who understands the issues that matter most. It was an honor to stand with Congresswoman Judy Chu, Buena Park Mayor Susan Sonne, Buena Park Councilmember Conner Traut, Fountain Valley Mayor Glenn Grandis, and DPOC Chair Ada Briceno as we prepared for an inspiring message from President Bill Clinton.

Let’s mobilize and turn out on Election Day! Together, we can shape a better future.

Spent the weekend in Phoenix and Glendale, Arizona with LA Councilman Hugo Soto-Martínez, hotel workers, canvassers, and volunteers walking for Harris/Walz and other progressive candidates in this critical sunbelt swing state. With Election Day just around the corner, voting is more important than ever. Let’s make every vote count! Orange County presente! ✊🗳️

Thank you to OC Grantmakers for inviting me to be a panelist in the “Public-Private Partnerships: From Inception to Impact” session at yesterday’s Grantmakers Summit. It was a pleasure to discuss how public-private partnerships can foster impactful community solutions through collaboration from a government perspective.

It was also an honor to share the stage with Elizabeth Andrade from OC Hunger Alliance and Christian Esteban from Store One. I enjoyed learning more about the vital work they are doing!
