Mt Erie Firefighter Association History
The Mt Erie Firefighter Association is a membership organization consisting primarily of the Mount Erie Fire Department personnel, whom serve the community of Anacortes on the southern end of Fidalgo Island in the State of Washington. Mount Erie Fire Department was officially incorporated as Skagit County Fire Protection District 11 on October 14, 1959, protecting the area of Dewey Beach. Today the district covers 15 square miles, and a population of nearly 3000 people.
The primary object and goal of this association of firefighters shall be to support fire prevention, community outreach, public education, and to support all protection services offered by the Mount Erie Fire Department. It is also our object to also support local, state and federal agencies as required and to provide the members of our association a social, athletic, and recreational fellowship that unites not only the department members and families, but also the lives of the members of our community. It is our goal to provide relevant and valuable information and resources that will increase the overall life safety and knowledge of all the residents of our community.
The Mt Erie Firefighter Association consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and standing committees as deemed necessary, such as the social media and fundraiser committees.
Members of this committee are expected to adhere and follow the rules and the code of conduct established within the Association bylaws. It shall be the duty of all members to support association policies & promote harmony.
