On June 4, the Montgomery County Office for Aging held its 26th Annual Awards Celebration at Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia.
This year’s honorees included Patricia J. Beck, recipient of the Fr. Joseph F. Girzone Crystal Pillar of the Community Award; Rita O’Neill, FNP, recipient of the Diane G. Snell Humanitarian Award; and CDPHP and the late Fred A. Van De Bogart, recipients of the OFA Foundation’s Rao Philanthropic Award.
Special thanks to OFA Foundation Board Immediate Past President Andrew J. Santillo for serving as emcee, and to our generous sponsors whose support made this event possible. We are grateful to our premier sponsor, CDPHP; major sponsors NBT Bank and St. Mary’s Healthcare; and corporate sponsors Beckmann Converting, CDTA, Community Bank, Focused Wealth Management, Montgomery County Public Health, Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, and William and Roberta Winsman. The continued success of this wonderful event depends greatly on your ongoing commitment and support.
The evening began with a cocktail hour, followed by dinner, a service auction, and the presentation of awards. Thanks to the generosity of our attendees and several donors who contributed after the event, the service auction raised $48,737 so far, with additional gifts still being received. These contributions directly support our home-delivered meals program and help ensure that seniors in Montgomery County can access this vital service without being placed on a waiting list. Community support is essential to sustaining programs like these and ensuring they remain available to those who need them most.
Congratulations once again to our deserving honorees, and thank you to everyone who continues to support the Office for Aging, its services, and the seniors of Montgomery County. Your generosity and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults throughout our community.
