🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT: EXPECT MAJOR DELAYS 🚨

📅 TODAY, Sunday, September 6, 2026
🕥 10:30 AM to 1 PM

The annual Convoy for a Cause will travel east along Route 5S from Fort Plain to the Fonda Fairgrounds.

⚠️ Motorists should expect significant delays throughout the Route 5S corridor, especially in Fort Plain, Canajoharie, Fonda, and Fultonville.

Traffic near Fonda and Fultonville is expected to be particularly heavy between 11:30 AM and 1 PM. NYS Thruway Exit 28 may also become heavily backed up.

🚛 Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, use an alternate route when possible, and follow the directions of traffic personnel.

🚨 MISSING VULNERABLE ADULT

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Thomas J. Fernandez, who has been missing from the Fultonville area since August 26.

Thomas may be in need of medical attention and is believed to still be in the local area.

Anyone who has seen Thomas or has information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 518-853-5500.

We will be selling tickets for our Grand Prize Coachman Catalina Camper at the fair all this week! They make great stocking stuffers for Christmas and the proceeds from the raffle are going to help us purchase new battery powered extrication tools (Jaws of Life.) Thanks for your support!

🚛 CONVOY FOR A CAUSE IS COMING! 🚒

Sheriff Jeffery T. Smith and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office want to remind everyone that the 13th Annual Convoy for a Cause is just a few weeks away!

📅 Sunday, September 6, 2026

This year’s convoy will benefit 13 year old Bentley Odell of Palatine Bridge, 6 year old Lily Smith of Gloversville, and Toys to Stuff the Bus.

The convoy will once again travel along Route 5S from Fort Plain to the Fonda Fair, bringing trucks, emergency vehicles, and plenty of community support along the way.

As we get closer, we’ll share more information about the route, timing, traffic impacts, and access to the Fonda Fair. For now, we’re asking everyone to mark September 6 on your calendar and help us spread the word!

This is always a great event that brings our community together for an even greater cause, supporting local kids and families. 💛
