📢 Animal Control & Animal Resource Center Hours of Operation Reminder:
The Amory Police Department would like to remind our citizens of the hours of operation for both our Animal Control Officer (ACO) and the Amory Animal Resource Center (AARC).
🐾 Animal Control Officer (ACO)
Our Animal Control Officer is available Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Calls received during non-working hours will be returned on the officer’s next scheduled workday.
In the event of an emergency involving an immediate threat to human life or a violation of the City’s animal control ordinance, a police officer will be dispatched when the ACO is unavailable. All other non-emergency animal control matters will be addressed when the ACO returns to duty.
If the ACO is absent for an extended period, a designated member of the department may assist with animal control-related calls; however, services may be limited.
📞 For animal control questions or to request service, please call 662-256-2676.
🏠 Amory Animal Resource Center (AARC)
The AARC is open to the public Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The first few hours of each day are dedicated to the cleaning, care, and feeding of animals. Staff may also be temporarily away from the facility due to veterinary appointments, animal transports, or training. If no staff member is available, a notice will be posted on the front door.
⚠️ Animal Dumping is Illegal
As a reminder, it is illegal to abandon or dump animals within the City of Amory. Individuals caught doing so will be arrested and charged accordingly.
If you have a stray animal that needs to be surrendered, please contact the Animal Control Officer at 662-256-2676 to arrange assistance, or visit the Police Department during the ACO’s working hours.
Please note that animal control services are provided only to residents within the Amory city limits. Residents outside the city limits should contact the agency responsible for their area.
The Amory Police Department and the Amory Animal Resource Center remain committed to serving both the citizens and animals of our community. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
