Concord Avenue is closed in the area of Rose Lane due to a water leak. Amory Utilities are on the scene working to repair and get the roadway back open. Please stay away from this area. We will advise when the roadway is back open. Thanks

Investigators need the public's help. Over the weekend, our Investigation Division actively worked the homicide/aggravated assault that occured Friday night on E Avenue. We have been unable to locate video of the incident, even though multiple places in the area have cameras. We are sure that a camera captured video evidence that evening that will help with this case. We ask for the public to contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-530-7151 if you have video or information on this incident. You can also use the P3 App (QR code below) on your phone to send pictures or videos of the incident and remain anonymous. Crimestoppers will pay up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest on the suspect(s). Citizens and the police department have to work together to make our community safe to live and work in. On Friday August 28, 2026, at 9:58 pm, Amory PD received a call of shots being fired in the area of E Avenue in Amory. While officers were responding, further information came in that a subject was on E Avenue suffering from gun shot wounds. Officers arrived on the scene and administered medical aid until EMS arrived. The victim unfortunately did not survive. At 10:18 pm, Amory Police dispatch was advised of a second gunshot victim located at NMMC Gilmore Emergency room. Officers responded to the hospital and determined this victim was also injured at the location on E Avenue. The victim was later transferred to NMMC Hospital in Tupelo is serious condition. The Amory Police Department is asking the public to call with any information they may have involving this case. The Amory Police Department Investgation division can be reached by calling 662-256-2676 or you can call Golden Triangle Crimestoppers at 1-800-530-7151 and remain anonymous. More information will be released at a later time. We appreciate the quick response and assistance of the Amory Fire Department Monroe County, Ms Sheriff’s Department and Medstat Ambulance Service.

Fire Chief Scott has made us aware that there is a street closure for water line work in the curve where K Avenue and Victory Temple meet. Please avoid this area if at all possible. L Avenue can be used to go around this closure if needed. This is not expected to be a long closure. Thanks

The Railroad Crossing replacement on Parchman Road near Main Street is complete. The barricades are being removed this morning and the roadway is back open. Thanks everyone. From Amory PD Admin.
