On the surface our Street Medicine Program is about medical care. But it's about so much more than that. It's about showing up, building trust, and making sure our neighbors know they are seen and they are not alone. News 12 Long Island 12 rode along with our team to see the work we are doing alongside Northwell Health to bring care directly to our unhoused neighbors across Long Island. Legislator Debra Mulé came to visit the Coalition this week! She toured our space and we got to talk about how we're showing up for Long Islanders and how we can serve even more of our neighbors. Oh, and of course she got to meet Milo too. We are so grateful for her support and for everyone who continues to show up for our community. 🫶 ♥

Reworld Waste invited us to the Long Island Herald Sustainability Awards of Long Island 2026 and we had a revelation...junk journalers and scrapbookers have been sustainability advocates all along.🫣😝

As proud Long Islanders we feel so lucky to have been in a room full of people working to preserve our natural beauty. Someone has to keep Long Island pretty enough to scrapbook about. ✂️🌍

Race, poverty, and housing are deeply connected and shape who has access to stability, safety, and opportunity, and who is pushed to the margins. Malcolm X spoke about these systems of inequality and believed housing was a human right, central to dignity and justice. On Malcolm X Day, we reflect on his call for a society where people are fully recognized, respected, and free from the systems that deny them that dignity.

Mental health impacts every part of a person’s life, including their ability to feel safe, stable, and supported.

Mental health challenges can both contribute to and result from housing insecurity, financial hardship, trauma, and isolation. Access to compassionate, affordable care can make a meaningful difference for individuals and families across our community.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are highlighting organizations across Nassau and Suffolk Counties that provide counseling, crisis support, advocacy, peer services, and mental health care for Long Islanders of every age.

If you or someone you know needs support, help is available. 💚

This Mother's Day we wanted to take a second to honor all the ways it shows up, including the ones that are easy to overlook.

To every kind of mom out there, especially the ones carrying more than anyone knows, happy Mother's Day. You deserve it. 💗
