***GRAND MARSHALL NOMINATIONS OPEN!***

Hello all! We are gearing up for our parade on July 25th at 10:30am, and we are on the hunt for an individual to represent the spirit of Amity this year as our Grand Marshall. We are now accepting nominations for this recognition!

The Grand Marshall can be anyone who has made an impact on either your life or those of the citizens of Amity through their service or contributions to the community. If you know someone who fits the bill, please let us know their name and why you think they deserve this honor! Nominations can be made on this post, in person at City Hall, or emailed to [email protected].

Join the City of Amity's Historic Landmarks and Tourism Committees next Thursday, the 21st, for an update and recap of their recent and upcoming projects! These two City committees have been hard at work on a number of projects, and want to share what they've accomplished, and highlight what we can look forward to over the coming year. Presentations will include Amity's Historic Preservation Plan, the Amity - On the Map project, and the VisitAmity.org website. Families are welcome and light refreshments will be provided. https://www.amityoregon.gov/town-hall/page/town-hall-making-history-amity

On Friday, May 15th, between 8:00am and 3:00pm the City of Amity will be performing Hydrant Flow testing to help determine home insurance rates for residents. This involves opening pairs of hydrants at a number of locations throughout the City of Amity and may stir up sediment in the main water lines. We expect the impact to be minimal, but there may be some temporary pressure reductions. Please run an outdoor or bathtub faucet on cold for a minute or two until your water runs clear. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience!

Attention Amity Residents: ODOT just informed the city just now that they will be finishing up Rice Lane/Trade St. curbs today and Rice Lane will be really tight during this time. Rice Lane will be closed when they start paving around 4pm today. The city suggests using alternative routes today. We have reached out to Amity Elementary School to inform them of this since it will be during school pickup. Sorry for the inconvenience this will cause.
