I cut down a couple trees on the edge of the woods next to our solar panels. The deer know the sound of my chainsaw and treat it like a dinner bell. This time of year the options for forage are running low. Aspen/poplar appear to be the favorite.

Hard freeze this morning. Trees are will be bear soon, especially the soft wood. The silvopasture forage is starting to green up but the ground will soon be frozen. Call it a year on the 2025 epic growing season. Thank you everyone for supporting our farm.

More babies! I know I said I was done with the crossbreeds, but this meishan/mulefoot sow has weaned almost every piglet she had. Her nest building skills are amazing with just the right mix of sticks and hay. I added a sheet of plywood because it was 30 degrees this morning. Only a couple more 60 degrees days before it turns cold here in Wisconsin. Thankful for a couple nice days to get these babies up and running around.

Plum crazy. This permaculture garden that was Planted in 2022 is starting to bear fruit. The apples and pears are still a year or 2 away but we have been harvesting rhubarb and herbs from this bed since 2023, elderberry last year and now plum.
