By providing advocacy and case management support, FOA not only ensures that families receive services so that their basic needs are met, but we also help families identify ways to make their lives better.

NEW THIS YEAR - TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE BACK:

➡️ MAKE IT A BUENO YEAR
Food insecurity is a major issue for our families, especially those who don't qualify for federal food support programs. When Bob Lowry of Bueno y Sano heard about it, he offered to give us 100 $25 gift cards for our caseworkers to distribute to our client families. Please help us reach our goal of selling all 100 to be given to our families by buying them online as part of the ONLINE auction, item #64. Family Outreach will receive up to $2,500 and 100 families will have delicious nutritious food from Bueno y Sano. It's a winning combination all around.

➡️ SUMMER FUN
For the past two years, we have offered the opportunity to sponsor camperships to Light Up the Night! attendees. As summer camps are difficult for many of our families to manage with scheduling, etc., we now want families to be able to take advantage of the many recreational and cultural activities in the area and are asking for help sponsoring them.

Whether it's going to a pool, swimming lessons, museums, sporting events, camps, etc., this fund will make it possible for kids to get outside and be kids during the summer months. Our caseworkers will work with the families to find great opportunities suited to their needs and interests. This will be part of the LIVE auction.

06/06/2022

In 1972, four revolutionaries gathered around a kitchen table to change the way we approach mental health care. For five decades, they and their legacy—the Center for Human Development (CHD)—have provided compassionate care and support to people in need from all walks of life across western Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Now, on CHD’s fiftieth anniversary, our nearly 2,000 skilled professional caregivers are proud to unveil a new look and promise for our organization, which has long stood strong at the heart of our community’s social safety net, and joined hands with thousands of people and families to find a way toward better lives.

At CHD, we believe there has never been a better time to ensure that all members of our community have a fair chance at opportunity. At CHD, we work tirelessly to empower people and communities with skills and resources to become self-sufficient and strong. At CHD, we see value, talent and inspiration in all people, no matter what struggle or toil they’re working through today.

At CHD, care finds a way.
