🚗💙 Giving Back Through NEET — And Why You Might Love It Too!
When you live and work in this community, you meet so many wonderful people — and you quickly discover there are countless ways to give back. One of the ways I choose to help is by volunteering with Northern Essex Elder Transport (NEET).
As a NEET driver, I bring seniors to their medical appointments. It’s simple: I log into the website, look at the available drives, and pick the ones that fit my schedule. Some months I don’t drive at all, and other months I might take on four trips. Many volunteers do even more — some drive multiple times a week!
Most appointments are local, but every now and then I head to Boston or Burlington. I bring my laptop, keep working, and make the most of the day. The seniors I drive are always so appreciative… but honestly, I’m the one who benefits most. I get to meet incredible people, hear their stories, learn about their careers, families, and passions. It’s meaningful in ways I never expected.
If you have a little time to spare — even just once in a while — I truly encourage you to consider volunteering with NEET. It’s flexible, rewarding, and an amazing way to support our neighbors.
