🌟 Another Rising Star Intern Update! 🌟

Our interns have had a busy few weeks making an impact throughout Story County! 🌱

They recently returned to the Ames Farmers Market with a "Help Plant Our Flower Garden" activity and free stickers, and they'll be back this Saturday with a fun Trivia Wheel—be sure to stop by and say hello!

The interns have also been busy with youth programming, helping with a nutrition program at the Ames Public Library and bringing the Seeds and Bees program to the Gilbert Library, where participants learned about pollinators, planting, and the importance of bees. 🐝🌻

Behind the scenes, they've been preparing for upcoming FIRST® LEGO® League opportunities and other exciting summer activities. 🤖🧱

With the Story County Fair on the horizon, our interns are excited for all that's ahead and look forward to helping make fair season a success! 🎡🍀

🍀Clover Kid Workshop Recap 🍀

Last Friday was full of creativity, learning, and fun at our Clover Kid Workshop! 🎨

Our young participants got their hands busy making pinch pots out of clay, showing off their artistic skills and imagination. They also crafted bird feeders, helping support our feathered friends while learning about nature and care for wildlife. 🐦

To top it all off, everyone cooled down with a delicious ice cream treat, that they individually hand made! The perfect way to celebrate a job well done! 🍦

Thank you to everyone who joined us, we can’t wait for our next adventure! 💚

🌟 Rising Star Intern Update 🌟

Another busy week is in the books for Rising Star Interns!

Their involvement in youth programming is officially underway. Addie and Emerson facilitated the Seeds and Bees program in Roland 🌱, while Emerson also visited Camp Canwita to share the importance of mental health management with campers. The team also had the opportunity to test out the blender bike in preparation for upcoming programs and events. 🚲

On the creative side, Annabelle has been hard at work designing promotional materials for upcoming events, including Story County Fair promotions and custom stickers that will be handed out at the Ames Farmers' Market. 🎨

From youth programs to community outreach, these interns continue to gain new experiences and make connections throughout Story County. Be sure to say hello if you see them out in the community and stay tuned to see what they accomplish next! ☀️

🌟 Meet the Story County Rising Star Interns! 🌟

Since starting on May 19th, Addie, Annabelle, and Emerson have been busy making a difference in the community as this summer's Story County Rising Star Interns!

They have begun working on the rebranding and redesign of the Beloit Donation Garden, including creating new maps and helping plan exciting updates for the space. 🌱

They have also been preparing for summer programs and a new First LEGO League initiative by attending training at Bremer County Extension. 🤖

Most recently, they made their first appearance at the Ames Farmers' Market, where they hosted a LEGO Community Garden activity and connected with community members. 🧱🌻

These first few weeks have been an exciting start to their summer journey, and they look forward to sharing more projects, experiences, and accomplishments throughout the season. Stay tuned for updates! ☀️✨

Set sail for a day full of creativity, discovery, and fun! 🚢

Join us on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Erickson Park Shelter (110 N Park St, Roland, IA) for an exciting hands-on adventure just for kids completing 1st–2nd grade.

✨ What to expect:
Build LEGO® ocean habitats, sea creatures, and exploration vehicles
Enjoy movement breaks, storytelling, and teamwork activities
Take part in an exciting Ocean Rescue Mission, design solutions to clean up pollution and protect marine life
Celebrate with a fun show-and-tell at the end of the day
