As we welcome the warmer months ☀️, it’s exciting to see wildlife becoming more active! 🦋This also means we might spot a bear or two. 🐻 Just a reminder that the Amery Police Department can’t remove bears from trees or private property.

Here are some friendly tips to help keep bears at bay in our neighborhoods:

1. Bring in your bird feeders at night to avoid attracting them.
2. If you can, store your dumpsters in your garage or a shed to keep them secure and safe.
3. Don’t forget to clean your grills after cooking and dispose of any food waste or garbage promptly.
4. If you have motion sensor lights, use them—they can help deter curious bears!

If you happen to see a bear on your property, keep a safe distance and stay indoors 🏡 until it wanders back to a more natural area.

📌 Boosting Public Safety in Amery! 📌

As part of our ongoing commitment to public safety, the Amery Police Department recently applied for a grant through the Amery Hospital & Clinic Foundation. Our goal was to secure Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for more accessible locations within City Hall and to equip our patrol vehicles.

Currently, our squad cars are not equipped with AEDs, and the leased units within City Hall are reaching the end of their contract. To ensure uninterrupted, lifesaving accessibility while remaining fiscally responsible with city funds, we turned to the Foundation for help.

We are thrilled to announce that the Amery Hospital & Clinic Foundation has generously granted us the funds to purchase 4 brand-new AED units!

We are incredibly thankful for their incredible support in helping us protect and serve our community. These units will ensure that lifesaving equipment is always within arm's reach when it matters most! 🔗❤️
