This morning, Sumter County Middle School proudly hosted our 1st Nine Weeks Honors Program, recognizing the hard work, dedication, and outstanding achievements of our students! 🐾💛🖤

💛🖤 A Special Thank You to Mrs. Hamilton! 🐾

SCMS would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Hamilton for her valuable contributions to the planning and organization of our Honors Programs!

Working alongside Principal Martin Mitchell, Mrs. Hamilton offered thoughtful guidance and a valuable parent perspective that helped shape the efficient, well-organized format we enjoy today.

Her insight and involvement have made a lasting difference in how we celebrate our students' achievements, and we are truly grateful for her willingness to share her time and ideas to help make our programs a success!

Our SCMS front office staff celebrated Principal Martin Mitchell with a custom jersey for National Principals Appreciation Month! Another thoughtful gift to show our school spirit and appreciation for Mr. Mitchell. 🐾🧩

🌟📚 FALL BREAK MATH SUPERSTARS! 🧮🏆

While school was out for Fall Break, these three outstanding 7th-grade students were still putting in the work! 💪

Here’s what makes their accomplishment even more impressive: NONE of this work was required! These students took the initiative to log into i-Ready and complete Math lessons entirely on their own, during their vacation!

Out of our entire student body at Sumter County Middle School, these were the ONLY THREE students who completed i-Ready Math lessons over Fall Break! 🎉

Today is an exciting day at Sumter County Middle School! We are incredibly proud of our 16 outstanding eighth-grade students who have been selected as REACH Scholarship candidates for the 2026–2027 school year!

Each of these students participated in an interview today, showcasing their accomplishments, character, and goals for the future. While only a select few will ultimately be chosen as scholarship recipients, we are proud of ALL 16 students for earning this opportunity! 👏
