💧 WATER SERVICE UPDATE | W. CHURCH STREET

Earlier today, a water main was struck in the W. Church Street area, temporarily affecting water service. City crews responded and isolated the affected area.

Water service has now been restored.
Thank you to our residents for your patience and to our crews for their quick response.

Just 2 Days Away 🇺🇸

This Friday, Americus and Sumter County will come together to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

We invite our community to join us for this special remembrance as we honor the lives lost, recognize the heroes, and reflect together.

We hope to see you there.

25 YEARS LATER… WE REMEMBER.

Some moments in history change us forever. September 11, 2001, was one of those moments.

Twenty-five years later, we pause as one community to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the heroes who ran toward danger, and recognize the first responders, service members, families, and everyday Americans whose courage reminded us of the strength found in unity.

The City of Americus and Sumter County invite you to join us for a special 25th Anniversary September 11 Remembrance Ceremony.

We are honored to welcome Lieutenant Colonel Steve Stalvey, who will share his firsthand experience of the September 11 attack on the Pentagon.
