The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over August Mobilization Impaired Driving Discipline award presented by the Governor's Office of Highway Safety was awarded to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. the award was accepted by Captain Jay Lewis, Sunday at the Hands Across the Border meeting. Please be advised that the north bound lane of Highway 19 South will be closed due to a head on traffic collision at Hwy 308 and Three Bridges Rd. It appears that the driver of the car crossed the median and hit the pick up truck head on. one victim has been life flighted out and the other was pronounced DOA. Traffic is being re-routed up Hwy 308 at this time. Sheriff Eric D. Bryant is asking everyone to use caution if you are traveling in this area.

Keith Gary on his retirement after approx. 17 years of service and TAC- communications Specialist, Wendy Winters who is leaving us for a new position with another agency after 10 years of service. .
