My name is Missy and I LOVE the water and love to teach people to swim. I am from California and have grown up around water my whole life. We always had a pool and practically lived at the beach. I am a mom of 5 kids and Grandma of 4. My kids do not remember not knowing how to swim! As an adult I have been a life guard and have my WSI certification (Water Safety Instructor). I have also trained and competed in several triathlons in the pool, lakes and the ocean. I was an assistant coach for the American Fork High school swim team as well. I have been teaching the past 14 years and have enjoyed it so much that I put a year round pool in my backyard.
My goal in teaching is to first and foremost emphasize safety. Water can be fun but at the same time extremely dangerous. My son Sinjun, who was my swim aid for 4 years, saved a life on Utah lake. His skills with swimming and safety were both critical in this lifesaving experience. Just a little knowledge can save a life! Through the years of teaching, my son and I have taught many skill levels and abilities including kids with learning disabilities, Autism and water trauma. I look forward to meeting you and teaching you and/or your kids to swim!
*Teaching ages 3 and up
*During winter months pool is covered by a bubble and water temp is approximately 90 degrees
Pricing:
*5 private lessons (30 minutes each)- $200
*5 private lessons (20 minutes each) recommended for preschool ages
$133
*5 semi private lessons for swim team prep (30 minutes each)- $150
A semi private is a lesson with 2 kids around the same level. This is a great class for siblings or friends on the same swimming level ready to learn strokes.
